WELCOME TO THE 2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR!

At Mepham, we pride ourselves on having a well rounded art program, our photography department serves to round out our already extensive list of programs.  Our photography classes serve as introductory and mid level courses to photography.  Throughout the two years of photography students are exposed to photography as a medium of artistic expression.  Emphasis is placed on understanding the camera, the conventions of film photography, and developing an artistic vision and voice.  To this end, we preview many different photographic works and discuss different contemporary and historic methodologies in class.  Aesthetic, technical, and conceptual photographic works or art are addressed and explored.  In these classes students are expected to explore and push the boundaries of themselves as artists, as well as the limitations of photography as a medium.
